Those who have been following our Facebook Page would have read the exciting news last week!
We are bringing parkrun to Kirra!!!
parkrun is an exciting community running program that offers free weekly timed 5m running events all around the world. The Gold Coast is fortunate enough to have a parkrun currently taking place every Saturday morning up at Main Beach.
And now it’s time to bring this great concept to the southern end of the Gold Coast.
Sometime in mid to late February I will be launching the Kirra parkrun as Event Director, and the course is currently being finalised.
Keep checking www.chiselrunners.com.au for more information, or head on over and like the Kirra parkrun Facebook page to keep up to date with information on launch dates etc…
Cheers,
Chris

Well done to all those who turned up on Monday morning for the 12 Hills of Xmas. It’s a tough run to complete – close to 9km of hills and stairs around Currumbin in less than an hour.
Our next festive season run will take place on the 30th of December – The infamous Rainbow to Ruin. Starting at 9.30am at the Rainbow Bay Surf Lifesaving Club we will start the morning with a drink and then run north, stopping at every surf club until we reach Kurruwa! With support vehicle in tow and plenty of laughs to be had you would be mad to miss it!
Bring some family and friend and make sure you let us know if you are joining us so that we can organise numbers for lunch!
Have a great xmas and I look forward to running with you all in 2012!
Cheers,
Chris

It’s that time of year again where we start to throw a few funky runs into the program!
Here’s the deal over the coming two weeks
Monday 19th Dec – 5.15am Currumbin Alley car park
The 12 Hills of Xmas is an hour long run that takes in most of the inclines around Currumbin. Turn up, grab a map and start to tick them off! How many can you get done?
Friday 23rd Dec – 5.15am Currumbin Alley car park
The Xmas breakfast run – turn up in your favourite xmas themed costume and enjoy a relaxed 30 min festive run. We’ll finish with some breakfast and bubbles in the park so come along and join in the fun!
Friday 30th Dec – 10am Rainbow Bay surf club
The infamous Rainbow to Ruin!!! We meet at the Rainbow Bay Surf club at opening time, enjoy a cold one, jog north to the next surf club and repeat! We’ll keep going until we get to Kurrawa…or until we are ruined…whichever comes first! Support vehicle will carry your gear along the way…all you have to do is survive!!!
Look forward to seeing you all there. Feel free to email me at chris@chisel-fitness.com.au or call 0439 040 580 if you need more details.
Enjoy the festive season!!!
Cheers,
Chris

Numbers were a little thin in this morning’s running group – possibly due to the poor weather, and possibly due to quite a few people taking part in either the Toowoomba Marathon Festival, Byron Bay Lighthouse Run, and Burleigh Beach Swim/Run over the weekend.
Well done to all those who competed…we managed to get up a few wee hills this morning in your honour and look forward to seeing you back at Friday’s session.
A few little housekeeping issues to take care of:
I’ve recently been mentioning a Jog for Jugs run that will take place on October 30th. Here is the website to check out for those who are interested.
Also feel free to check out Tim’s website. Tim has run with us a few times in the past week and is recording his running adventure through this blog…I’m sure you’ll find it an interesting read.
Cheers,
Chris
